Sunday Drive and Murmuration

I told my husband that we were going to start going on Sunday drives. I remember going for Sunday afternoon drives when I was a little girl. My mom would pile us in the car and off we went. The end of the drive was always celebrated with an ice cream cone from the "Corn Popper."

Here are a few pictures from our Sunday drive.

Notice the leather boots?

Skoopers has the best fudge, evah!

I've seen spotted cows before, but striped cows?
Yes, you've seen it here for yourself.

And, lastly......

I saw this video on Dispatch from LA
It's an amazing video. I watched it a few times and even made my kids watch it.

A Christmas Story In Chicago

I went to Chicago for a couple of days with my family to do some shopping and to see the musical "The Christmas Story." Chicago is my favorite city to hang out in, and I love walking down the magnificent mile. It has so much to offer.

This is a 26 foot sculpture of Marilyn Monroe on Michigan Avenue. She has not been treated kindly since she was unveiled. She has been vandalized several times and there wasn't a time I walked by her that some guy wasn't having his picture taken under her skirt making some kind of crude gesture. If you walk behind the sculpture, you get a full view of her behind. So far this sculpture is rated as one of the world's worst public art displays.
Yeah....I'm not so sure about this one, Chicago.
On a more personal note, I experienced my first live musical, "A Christmas Story." It was funny, and my whole family enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.
It was also my first time inside the Chicago Theatre. Wow!
The beauty starts outside, and once inside, it is so elegant. You can also see a lot of history hanging on the walls inside.
The architecture and light fixtures are breath taking, and in the minds of many people, it is the best "movie palace" ever built (1921). I noticed some people still get very dressed up to attend the theatre. It is a must see if you ever visit Chicago.
